AND WILCO ON ROLLING STONES AND DEAD COVERS IN TAMPA

The AmericanaramA tour rolled on to Tampa tonight for performances by Grateful Dead / Furthur guitarist Bob Weir, and tour headliners My Morning Jacket , Wilco and Bob Dylan . AmericanaramA’s visit to Tampa’s Live Nation Amphitheatre comes after last night’s opening show in West Palm Beach, which was highlighted by a Weir sit-in with Wilco. Well Bobby continues to be the story as tonight he guested with My Morning Jacket and Wilco.
Following Weir’s opening set, which included takes on “Me & My Uncle,” “Black-Throated Wind” and “Walking Blues,” Bobby came out during My Morning Jacket’s set for a cover of “Dear Prudence” by The Beatles. While Weir last performed “Dear Prudence” last night, tonight’s version was the first for My Morning Jacket. Bobby and Jim James shared vocals on the cover. MMJ showed off the depth of their catalog by only repeating one song, “Circuital,” from Wednesday night’s set.
Wilco also has shown their propensity to mix it up by playing a number of songs they didn’t play last night such as “War On War,” “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” and “Sunken Treasure.” The Weir guest spots weren’t over, as Bobby re-emerged ten songs into the Chicago-based band’s set for a pair of covers. First up was “Dead Flowers” by The Rolling Stones, which Wilco performed last Friday night during the “All-Request Set” at the Solid Sound Festival. Then, Weir sat in with Jeff Tweedy and Co. on “Friend Of The Devil.” Tonight was the Wilco debut of the treasured Grateful Dead song.

Meanwhile, on Thursday night Bob Dylan stuck to a similar script as he did at the tour opener. Dylan did swap in classics “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and “Blind Willie McTell,” which weren’t performed in West Palm Palm.
